Grand kids for Christmas!

Cara

My oldest son and family were here for Christmas. Always so special to have them. It was just the eight of us for Christmas - how many did you have?

Grand-daughter Nicole

This is Nicole in her costume for her ballet recital. However, she broke her foot and was unable to participate. She took the cast/boot off her foot long enough for her photos.

Nicholas

Nicholas is the brother to the three girls shown earlier, Cara, Caitlin and Talia. He is a very good brother and the girls are pretty lucky! Nicholas is a lot of fun to have in the home. I enjoyed his week stay with us.

Caitlin

She wiggles and moves so much I had to settle for the least blur!

"Annie" - meeting Daddy Warbucks

This contains only one small scene from Annie.
 My grandson was Daddy Warbucks.
My grand-daughter is the tallest 'grounds-keeper' on the right.
(They kind of make-up roles just to use more children - a total of
90 actors and 30 behind the scenes for this show.)
This will let you see the high quality of costumes and stage props that CYT North Idaho prepares for its shows!

Ready to Tap For ANNIE

A nother week and the cast will be ready! Jessica, my oldest grand-daughter, is seen to the left of the picture, with some of her friends. They are grounds-keepers in live theater for Annie and will be featured several times as tappers!

My daughter and her family have been participating in Christian Youth Theater for several years. My daughter, a professional pianist, has thoroughly enjoyed working with these groups of 80-90 children, as she both plays for them and occasionally directs the music.

I can not say enough good things about Christian Youth Theater. The children are trained in so many areas! Each child can find/use their 'talent', whether it be in making props, sewing costumes, singing, working with lighting, publicity, acting, group participation, playing instruments, helping with sound effects, or using specialized talents like tapping, acrobatics and etc.

They must attend classes before they can be part of a performance. Adults volunteer to work with the children and I am amazed at the number of professional adults who give of their time to train.

So, next weekend, I head over the hills to go see ANNIE!

The Hiking Group

While the ladies had tea, the men and children hiked.

Michael, Nicole, Jason, Jessica
Hiking around Tubbs Hill

Jessica, Jason, Melvin
Beautiful Coeur d'Alene Lake

Bob took these photos and was a part of the hiking group.

After the hike they picked up Gene and Othel and went for lunch.
They found a place that was definitely a winner!

Jason really enjoyed this time with Uncles he did not know. The men treasured the time of visiting over food they really enjoyed.

So where are the pictures of BBQ ribs, drenched with BBQ sauce?
Hot buns dripping with cinnamon butter?
BBQ beans, french fries ...?
Buckets of peanuts?
Oh, and the deep-fat-fried dill pickles that were such a hit?

Kevin with Cara and Caitlin

Cara has more energy than 3 children. She keeps the family really busy!

Kevin enjoys 2 of the girls and Cara eats a radish out of the garden.

Here is a better view of Caitlin.

Jessica

My oldest grand-daughter is becoming a very pretty young lady!

Nicole and Jessica

Nicole and Jessica are ready to go to the performance of 'Tom Sawyer'. They both had acting parts and it was a wonderful experience for them.

Yes, this is the difference in their height - they are both standing level on the floor! They are almost 3 years apart in age, but what a difference.

Caitlin

While Sunday activities and birthday parties are hard on everyone, Caitlin escaped - she found my basket of throw blankets, rubbed them for a few moments, and soon sunk her face into pure bliss.

Talia

Talia loves to sleep. She is a very peaceful baby!
