Elk Feeding Time

We went out to the feeding ground yesterday and clicked a few of the elk. The heavy snow in the mountains is the reason these come down in search of food. The fish and game department feed them daily. I think we saw maybe 300 elk.

My oldest son and family were here for Christmas. Always so special to have them. It was just the eight of us for Christmas - how many did you have?

Sometimes I like to close my eyes and see only this instead of all the details. I have always been amazed when people could take a photo like the above, and I do not even know how I did it!

New Sox

Dear Hobbit, if you can post all your wonderful socks, I thought I could also. However, I will admit I did not knit mine. LOL!

Sophie - 3 months old

The cell phone photos were a very poor quality, but for some reason I like this combination - almost looks like a page from an antique photo album. While getting Sophie ready for bed, her Daddy started talking to her and she cooed and laughed, laughed and cooed. It was precious!

Utah visit

Got to go to Utah last week to visit my youngest son and his family. We had such a wonderful time. Took us 11 hours of travel time. On the return trip it was snowing on the 'mountain' passes. So glad we made the trip when we did.

Lavender

This week the family is photographing anything lavender. I have lots of lavender soaps and lotions, but this is by far my favorite collage I photographed and put together.

Our Smoky Valley

Lots of fires in Washington, Idaho, and Montana. It all started with a very wet spring causing the grasses to grow taller than usual. Then the summer heat came with long dry days. We had 100 new fires start a week ago from lightening without rain. However, Montana and Idaho have more burning than we do.
