We are almost there. Long ago travelers took advantage of the beaches and those south of this mountain point stayed south, and those north of this point stayed north. We were lucky to have the modern road up and over.Rockaway Beach was built as a summer resort for Portlanders in the 1920's. This community of 1200 year-round residents is the center of activity for north Tillamook County. Rockaway Beach has 7 miles of beautiful, clean sandy beaches.
