Living in a New Country

From where we live, we drove to the top of the hill.
To the left of the photo is the edge of an apple orchard.
To the right of the photo is a vineyard.

Looking down the row of a vineyard.

Looking north, down the canyon and over the hills
where ragged rocks and orchards co-exist.
To the right is an apple orchard; to the left a cultivated pasture.

Looking west, a gravel road leads to small farms and orchards.
These give way to the snow spotted foothills of the Cascade Mountain Range.

Looking south, above where we live,
you see the Ahtanum Ridge creating the skyline.

I will come back to these spots and take spring and summer photos.

These are such beautiful photos. I especially love the one with the gravel road and the farmhouses. Is it your husband's job that has carried you back to this place? Your header photos are amazing--what a joy to wake up to that!
