The Last Of The Reunion

It was fun meeting all of you.

You have to admit I'm pretty cute.

Randy ... my eyes!

Come on now ... look just like the puppy.

That's all folks. See you in two years!

Lining up to Take Pictures

These cameras are full of surprises.

The subject matter can be pretty entertaining,
and so are the photographers!

This is probably my best picture of Aunt Dorotha.

Montey's Extended Family

Aunt Dorotha's Extended Family

Side Trip

While Bob, Zella, Ron, Geneva, and Leora went north to visit Mt. St. Helens and its Visitor's Center, Bob and I headed south only a few miles. Bob was guessing where he could find this old school where he attended first grade, probably in 1952. He misjudged its location by only 1 block.

In those days, this was called Pioneer, WA. Now it is near the town of LeCenter, WA. He does not have fond memories of his first grade and was glad to move on.

Just a few blocks from the old school is this barn. If you will look closely you will see what is left of Mt. St. Helens off to the right. The Bjurs lived here when Bob lived here. They attended our wedding in Spokane many years later.

In Context

What's the matter with this thing. If I could just see ...

Do you think we could take this whole thing and no one would notice?

There is only a 2% chance you will sit by me.

Out of Context

Would someone please tell me who is who?

I don't know what they are laughing about, but I know trouble when I see it.

Gotta go, gotta go, gotta go!

Don't tell them now, but my neck is fine!

Relaxing and Visiting

Doug (Ruby's son-in-law)

Married 48 years to Donna, he still has his CDL license and drives truck. Donna enjoys crafts, making cards, and her Red Hat group.

Mabel with Richard Luff

Richard was born in Hinsdale, Montana 80 years ago this past February.

Richard is now the new owner of the Carter Family photo album which Zella made and placed in the silent auction. Richard said he wanted it so much he would have paid anything for it.

Monte (Dorotha's son) and wife Linda

Gary, the reunion host, is their son. It was apparent that Monte had to spend extra time with Linda and provide extra care.

Zella

Ron and Geneva

Reunion Host and Hostess

Gary and Marcia Christensen made all the arrangements for the reunion. That is always a lot of work and they saw to it that everything was going as it should.

In just the two days I was able to attend, they had taken the group for a tour of a flour mill, where Geneva and others bought freshly ground flour and cornmeal. We toured a local museum - several of this family had been born in this town. He lead the Bingo game and she made sure all the family pictures were taken in the correct groups. They also put together the reunion cookbook, which included some neat pictures of the Carter Sisters.

Story Time

Doug stands around the fire, roasting marshmallows, and telling stories on himself. We laughed so hard the neighbors sent us to bed.
