Sacred Heart Hospital

On our way to tea, we took time to drive by Sacred Heart Hospital. Evelyn worked here - I forgot to ask her for how long.

It was once only the tall center building, but has spread across the hill, embracing the Childrens Hospital to the left, the Cardiac Care Unit to the right, and a large medical expansion below the first tall building.

The Hiking Group

While the ladies had tea, the men and children hiked.

Bob took these photos and was a part of the hiking group.

After the hike they picked up Gene and Othel and went for lunch.
They found a place that was definitely a winner!

Jason really enjoyed this time with Uncles he did not know. The men treasured the time of visiting over food they really enjoyed.

So where are the pictures of BBQ ribs, drenched with BBQ sauce?
Hot buns dripping with cinnamon butter?
BBQ beans, french fries ...?
Buckets of peanuts?
Oh, and the deep-fat-fried dill pickles that were such a hit?

To Spokane for Tea

Downtown, on the edge of the business district,
we found three isolated homes.
The middle one had the address for which we were looking.

Brambleberry Cottage and Tea Shoppe

Some of us have had extensive experience in shopping
for tea items. This shoppe had very little and we did not
buy anything extra. Maybe we all sighed with relief
that we were not tempted to buy!

Evelyn, Leora, Lois, and Zella.
Dorene took the picture.

Brother-in-laws

7 Siblings and Their Families

Spanning 22 years,
it is sobering to know we will never be this young again.

Evening Visit

After guests had left, the tarps had been removed, tables taken down, chairs returned and food ushered back into the kitchen, it was time to visit. The grand-children and great-grand-children had gone swimming, so towels were hung to dry.

Eva's children would start the journey home - tomorrow.

The Memory Board

For some reason I did not take a picture of the entire board. It was filled with many wonderful pictures which had been taken through the years.

The reunion centered around this event - Eva and Othel's 60th wedding anniversary.
The family did a wonderful job, the food was delicious, the weather co-operated, and many friends and family showed up to celebrate.

A Glimpse at the Years as they Pass

Here they are after 60 years of marriage.
I remember many fun times with these two: sledding in the winter, hiking through the woods, picking wild berries, camping, yummy food, reading books, and so much more. They have left me with many wonderful, warm memories. Thank you.

Dorene Opens Her Home

The reunion activities, which centered around Eva's 60th Wedding Anniversary, started at Dorene's.

Her husband, Jason, took it all in stride and enjoyed meeting the men.

Dorene Plays For Us

Zella rounded us up to listen to Dorene. The next day, Dorene played for me for several hours. I think we were walking down memory lane as she played songs from many past recitals.
